U-pick blueberries

COLLECTION PERIOD

From the beginning of July until the end of September.
There is no minimum amount for pick up.
You can pick them yourself, or buy them already picked at the kiosk at the entrance.

CONTAINERS

Blueberries are sold by the pound. You can therefore bring your own containers, otherwise we will provide them.

HOW TO COLLECT THEM

Look for blueberries that are firm, dry, fleshy, smooth and covered in a whitish bloom, without leaves or stems. If the size does not indicate ripeness, the color is a good indicator: blueberries should be a deep purple blue to blue black; the reddish berries are not ripe, but can be used in cooking. Avoid soft or shriveled blueberries and any signs of mold.

HOW TO STORE THEM

In the refrigerator, put a paper towel at the bottom of the plastic dish and pour the blueberries on top, without touching them with your hands. Then lay another paper towel over the fruit and put the lid on.

When it's time to serve, pour in the desired amount – ideally without touching them with your hands – and immediately put the rest of the blueberries back in the refrigerator to prevent temperature variations from causing the fruit to sweat.

In this way, the blueberries will keep for two to three weeks.
